When I checked and started a program called "JustDeals" by the problems started again. Rebooted, start over, checking one program at a time. Then I continued to run MSCONFIG and checked one program at a time to start on bootup. Right clicking on the desktop was instant, as was opening files. Finally, I ran MSCONFIG in the Run box and deselected all start up items. Whenever I tried to open files, the hour glass would go and it would take a while for each folder to open. In my case, whenever I booted up, I right clicked on the desktop and the hour glass would go for several seconds, then the error would pop up. I tried the solution above and it didn't work. Each solution is going to be different for each person until then.
I can tell you there will not be a 'one fix fixes all' solution unless it comes from MS.
